More Oil?!
More oil for your trumpet valves is best? Right?! Not necessarily!
If your valves are feeling sluggish, often we believe adding more oil to our valves will allow them to move faster. This is true sometimes, but there are cases where adding more oil will only cause your valves to slow even more. This is because oil can cause the build of up grime and create laggy action. Proper cleaning of your valves is essential to the optimal performance of your trumpet! We offer cleaning services and can also instruct you on cleaning your valves between full body cleanings!

The higher the reed strength—the better the reed and the better the player! Right? FALSE. The strength of a reed indicates its density and flexibility. The higher the number, the more dense and less flexible a reed becomes. Many experienced musicians play on lower reed strengths as well as high! It’s all about personal preference and the tone produced!
