Geyer vs Kruspe

French Horns: Geyer vs Kruspe—What’s the difference?

In Geyer French horns, the Bb rotor is located in line with the other three valves. This results in less tubing bends creating less resistance and a balanced sound.

In Kruspe French horns, the Bb valve is closer to the thumb key and not in line with the other three valves. This creates more bends in the tubing which increases options for tuning. Additionally, the resistance from the tubing combined with this style’s bigger bell provide a unique sound.
